TSG46. Do you want to build a sketchbook? (with Teresa Barroso)
Let´s make an origami sketchbook
Dear Sketchbookers (did you sing also the Do You Want to Build a Snowman? song?),
I hope you enjoyed making your first sketchbook with
! For me, it opened a new fun world of making the base of my work, a sketchbook with the paper I want to work with!The stars also aligned this month and
made a session about making sketchbooks. Her session had a demo from Margaux Kent, and it was super fun listening everyone while we all had the same goal.This week we had the super talented
with us and she will show us how to make an origami sketchbook. As the other guest posts, I asked Teresa to talk about herself, what she enjoys doing and to showcase her artwork.Hello!
Let me introduce myself to those who don't know me :) I'm Teresa and like to define me as creative dreamer, I enjoy drawing and making things for the fun of it! I live in Portugal with my family & cat, started making doodles in 2018 to relax from my day job and never stopped since.
I'm always looking for new art supplies to try out and explore, one of my first materials were watercolours and need to say we still have a difficult relationship! My favourite medium at the moment are colour pencils, colour is an obsession, have a deep passion for all the colours including black!!!
I love art challenges, those we find online and my personal ones, it's a way to never stop my practice and push me beyond my comfort zone, in the same measure come the drawing sessions, presently there are so many amazing live sessions, my current favourite are: Art Hang Party, Introvert Drawing Club and Odd Orange.
I write a Newsletter which is called Blogletter where I share my art journey and more recently I created also a YouTube channel.
Sketchbook addiction is a real thing, I use mostly the 'famous' and affordable Art Creation sketchbooks from Royal Talens, but I'm always looking for new ones in search for my 'ideal' sketchbook, also like to make my own sketchbooks and that's what brings me here today in this collaboration :)
Teresa´s Corner of curiosities
- for many years now my username in the internet has been "caracolinho" which means little snail, that's why my IG account is oficinacaracolinho
meaning little snail workplace;
-my cat's name is Aguarela which means watercolour;
- my favourite theme to draw is food, but I eat like a tiny bird!
Teresa´s multimedia artwork
Don´t you love all the media she can work with? Besides that, she also makes sketchbooks with different kinds of paper, and the good news? The materials needed for this sketchbook are quite basic:
Paper
Ruler
Cutting Mat or cardboard
X-acto knife
That´s it, are you ready?
